Pre-Kindergarten (Pre-K) tutoring:
The Pre-Kindergarten tutoring lessons will provide your child with the skills that are necessary for elementary school such as reading, writing, and math. Lana’s Cool school skill-building tutoring lessons will grow your child’s letter recognition and sound awareness for reading, will learn math sense, and will practice letter writing thus developing a curiosity for a deeper understanding of his/her world. Lana’s Cool school tutoring sessions focus on building a solid foundation in phonics skills. By mastering letter-sound relationships, decoding words, and understanding phonemic patterns, children gain the essential tools for reading success.
Reading
With Lana’s Cool school tutoring your child will learn to:
· Recognize and name all uppercase and lowercase letters of the alphabet.
· Identify sounds associated with letters.
· Continue to build phonemic awareness.
· Track words from left to right on a page.
· Build sight vocabulary and word recognition.
· Read simple one-syllable words.
· Ask and answer questions about a story.
Our Pre-K Math Classes introduce children ages 3 to 5 to foundational math concepts through engaging and playful activities. The curriculum is designed to spark curiosity and develop early numeracy and logical thinking skills.
Activities include counting objects, recognizing numbers, and basic addition and subtraction using visual aids.
Children learn to identify shapes and understand spatial relationships through puzzles and block building.
Hands-on use of manipulatives like counting bears and number blocks, along with digital games, to make learning fun and interactive.
